(This is a t-shirt design to show your support for the Native American people of Oklahoma.)
In the early 1800's, the original name for the area of Oklahoma was "Indian Territory." The "Five Civilized Tribes" were among the first to arrive to Indian Territory, on the forced removal from the eastern part of the USA, called the Trail of Tears. These were the Cherokee, Choctaw, Creek, Chickasaw, and the Seminole. The US Government made treaties, and wrote documents for the newly arrived Tribes, which stated that this new territory was to be theirs....Forever! But, in a matter of years, the Native people of Indian Territory experienced a breaking of this promise, and white settlers were permitted to make settlements all around them. Today, many other Native Tribes are represented within Oklahoma as well. "Welcome to Indian Territory," because by promise, it is STILL the land of The Native People....Forever.
